This 4 day safari is built for guests who want a real taste of Kenya without giving up too many beach days. You cover Tsavo East, Kenya’s oldest and largest park, then Amboseli, known for its huge elephant herds and views of Mount Kilimanjaro. We pick you up from your hotel in Malindi, Watamu, Diani or Mombasa, and bring you back at the end.
Pickup starts at 06:30 from your hotel. The drive to Tsavo East takes around three hours on tarmac road, and we enter through Sala Gate with a game drive on the way in, watching for elephants, giraffes, buffalo and lion. You reach your lodge around 13:00 for lunch and a short rest. At 16:00 you head out again for an evening game drive before dinner and an overnight stay in the park.
A short game drive at 06:30 before breakfast gives you one more pass through Tsavo East in the cool morning light. Around 09:00 you leave the park and drive toward Amboseli, passing through Tsavo West on transit and entering Amboseli through Kimana Gate, with game viewing along the way. You arrive at your lodge for lunch around 14:00. In the afternoon, from 16:00 to 18:30, you go on your first Amboseli game drive, when the light is best for photos of elephants against Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
The full day is spent in the park. A morning game drive from 06:30 covers the swamps, where large elephant herds gather to feed, with Mount Kilimanjaro often visible if the sky is clear. After lunch and a rest, an afternoon game drive from 16:00 covers a different section of the park, giving you a good chance at lion, buffalo and a wide range of birdlife. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
After breakfast at 07:00, there is a final game drive on the way out of the park, with an optional Maasai village visit at your own cost. The drive back to the coast takes most of the day, with stops for lunch and rest. You arrive back at your hotel in the evening.
